βBUSINESS: Can you build a calligraphy biz while living in a country that doesn't speak English? One of my students is actually doing it! My early flourishing suffered from......the usual beginner problem. I wasn't super confident in my strokes yet, so I just tried to add MORE. I mean, "Jenna" and "Nancy" look alright. But the other two? There's a LOT going on π¬ And I remember feeling kinda embarrassed... Because I was getting PAID for this job. I was in a small stationery shop and the owner had asked me to write these names but "make it fancy"π So I created these impromptu. No guidelines, no pencil sketching. I only made a couple bucks per envelope, but still... I knew something didn't look quite right. But you know what? I refused to give up! As soon as I got home, I started practicing my flourishes with more intention. And five years later, I made over $10K with much more simple, elegant designs (this was just one piece of that whole project, but an important one!) I don't want YOU to give up on flourishing either.
